Asaf Atasoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asfa Holding, included the following statements in his message;

The 24th of July 1908, when press censorship was lifted, guaranteeing journalists the impartial and free performance of their duties as intermediaries in fulfilling the public’s right to receive and disseminate information, is one of the most important turning points in the history of the Turkish press.

Today, our national and local press, adapting to the rapidly developing and changing media age, diligently fulfills its duty in bringing issues of interest to broad segments of society to the forefront, fulfilling the demands of our people, monitoring public affairs, and shaping public opinion on important issues.

Our press, which conducts its work with an impartial approach based on fundamental rights and freedoms, serves as the eyes, ears, and voice of our nation and contributes to the public’s right to information.

Our esteemed members of the press, who carry out their duties with this understanding, courage, and selflessness, deserve all praise and appreciation.

With these feelings and thoughts, on the anniversary of the lifting of press censorship in our country, I congratulate the entire press community, especially the valuable local and national press members who serve with dedication in our province, on “July 24th Journalists and Press Day,” and I commemorate with mercy the press workers who lost their lives while fulfilling their duties.

Halkın haber alma ve yayma hürriyetinin yerine getirilmesinde aracı olan basın mensupları tarafsız, özgürce görev yapmalarını güvence altına alan, basında sansürün kaldırıldığı 24 Temmuz 1908 günü; Türk Basın tarihinin en önemli dönüm noktalarından biridir.

Günümüzde ulusal ve yerel basınımız; hızla gelişen ve değişen medya çağının şartlarına uyum sağlayarak toplumun geniş kesimlerini ilgilendiren konuların gündeme alınmasında veya halkımızın taleplerinin yerine getirilmesinde, kamunun denetlenmesinde ve önemli konularda kamuoyu oluşturulmasında özveriyle görev yapmaktadır.

Kişisel hak ve özgürlükleri temel alarak, tarafsız bir anlayışla çalışmalarını yürüten basınımız; milletimizin gözü, kulağı, sesi olma ve kamuoyunun haber alma hakkına katkıda bulunmaktadır.

Görevini bu anlayışla, cesur ve fedakârca yürüten değerli basın mensuplarımız her türlü övgü ve takdiri hak etmektedirler.

Bu duygu ve düşüncelerle ülkemizde Basında Sansürün Kaldırılışının yıl dönümü dolayısıyla, başta İlimizde özveriyle görev yapan değerli yerel ve Ulusal basın mensupları olmak üzere bütün basın camiasının “24 Temmuz Gazeteciler ve Basın Bayramı”nı tebrik ediyor, görevlerini yerine getirirken hayatını kaybeden basın çalışanlarını rahmetle anıyorum.

“Two years have passed since the treacherous coup attempt by the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization, which aimed to undermine the unity and solidarity of our beloved nation and targeted the national will, the Republic of Turkey, and its government.”

On July 15th, our heroic people, fighting for their homeland, democracy, and independence, once again declared to the whole world, with the same determination as centuries ago, that protecting their land and glorious history is the sole element of their future.

That night, our heroic nation, united as one—men, women, young and old—filled the streets and squares at the call of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. They confronted tanks, cannons, planes, helicopters, and rifles with nothing but their faith and belief, risking their lives, and for days they remained in the squares, defending democracy.

As a manifestation of profound awareness, our noble nation, which without hesitation took to the streets to defend the indivisible unity and future of the country against the treacherous coup plotters and declared, “I have a heart bigger than tanks,” has set an unparalleled example for future generations.

From the very first moments of the July 15 coup attempt, our fellow citizens from Erzurum and Istanbul, who clearly and unequivocally took a stand in favor of national will and democracy, resolutely defended their homeland, nation, and flag with their vigil for democracy. Because we believe in the power of unity, and we know that our hearts have beaten with the same feelings for this homeland for centuries.

“With these feelings and thoughts, on the 10th anniversary of the July 15 Martyrs Commemoration, Democracy and National Unity Day, I pray to God for mercy for our July 15 martyrs who fought for our independence and democracy, and for all the martyrs throughout history who sacrificed their lives for our common sacred values. I remember our veterans with gratitude and appreciation, and I offer my deepest respects.”

“Aziz milletimizin birlik ve beraberliğine kasteden, Fethullahçı Terör Örgütü tarafından millî iradeye ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti ile hükûmetine yönelik gerçekleşen hain darbe girişimi üzerinden iki yıl geçti.

15 Temmuz’da vatan, demokrasi ve bağımsızlık uğruna mücadele veren kahraman insanımız asırlar öncesinde olduğu gibi yine aynı kararlılıkla yaşadığı toprakları ve şanlı tarihini korumanın, istikbalinin yegâne unsuru olduğunu tüm dünyaya haykırmıştır.

Kadını, erkeği, genci, yaşlısıyla tek vücut olan kahraman milletimiz o gece Cumhurbaşkanımız Sayın Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN’ın çağrısı ile sokakları, meydanları doldurmuş tankın, topun, uçağın, helikopterin, tüfeğin karşısında sadece ve sadece imanıyla, inancıyla canı pahasına karşı koymuş, günlerce meydanları boş bırakmayarak, demokrasiye sahip çıkmıştır.

Derin bir şuurun tezahürü olarak, ülkenin bölünmez bütünlüğü ve istikbali için hiç tereddüt geçirmeden sokaklara dökülerek göğsünü hain darbecilere siper eden ve ‘tanklardan büyük yüreğim var’ diyen aziz milletimiz gelecek kuşaklara eşsiz bir örnek sergilemiştir.

15 Temmuz darbe girişiminin ilk anlarından itibaren açık ve net bir şekilde milli iradeden ve demokrasiden yana tavır koyan Erzurumlu ve İstanbullu hemşerilerimiz de demokrasi nöbetiyle vatanına, milletine ve bayrağına kararlı bir şekilde sahip çıkmıştır. Çünkü biz birliğin gücüne inanıyor, yüreklerimizin bu vatan uğruna asırlardır aynı duygularla çarptığını biliyoruz.

Bu duygu ve düşüncelerle; 15 Temmuz Şehitlerini Anma, Demokrasi ve Millî Birlik Günü’nün 10. yıldönümünde bağımsızlığımız ve demokrasimiz uğruna mücadele veren 15 Temmuz şehitlerimize ve tarih boyunca aynı ortak mukaddes değerlerimiz uğruna canlarını feda eden şehitlerimize Allah’tan rahmet diliyor, gazilerimizi şükran ve minnetle anıyor, en derin saygılarımı sunuyorum.” dedi.

Our fathers, seen as the cornerstone of the family institution, play a decisive role in protecting our family values ​​and in passing on vital and indispensable values ​​such as justice, sharing, responsibility, love, respect, and authority from generation to generation.

Fathers, who fulfill their duties and responsibilities within the family with great devotion, who give their love and affection unconditionally, who spare no sacrifice for the happiness of the family, and who honor us with their presence in every moment of our lives, strive with all their might to prepare their children’s future securely.

The greatest gift we can give to our fathers, who consider the happiness of their family members their own happiness, who always guide us with their experience, and who have countless rights and contributions to our lives, is love and respect. Their children’s success is their joy, and their sorrow is their grief.

Our fathers, who stand behind us like a mighty oak tree at every moment of our lives and set an example for us with their dignified demeanor, deserve to be cherished not just on this special day, but throughout our lives. We must make them feel that they are our most precious possessions at every moment of their lives.

With these feelings and thoughts, I celebrate Father’s Day for all fathers, especially the fathers of our martyrs who sacrificed their precious children for our country, who form the backbone of family and social life and bind all family members together with a bond of trust. We are proud and happy to celebrate the 187th anniversary of the Gendarmerie Organization, which serves with a superior sense of duty in protecting the indivisible integrity of our homeland and ensuring peace and security in our country.

Our Gendarmerie Organization, which selflessly serves in the fight against crime and criminals, from counter-terrorism and maintaining public order to traffic safety, smuggling, and organized crime, not only ensures the security of our nation in the most remote villages and towns of our country but also strengthens the relationship between the state and its citizens in these areas.

Drawing strength from its glorious past and the support it receives from our esteemed nation, the Gendarmerie Organization has always been a source of pride and confidence for our people through its achievements.

With these feelings and thoughts, while fulfilling their duties with love and loyalty to their homeland, nation, and Republic, and demonstrating humility, selflessness, and sacrifice, I celebrate the 187th anniversary of the Gendarmerie Organization, the oldest law enforcement agency of the Republic of Turkey; I commemorate our heroic martyrs with mercy and respect, and our veterans with gratitude. İstanbul’un fethi; azim, inanç ve kararlılıkla elde edilen büyük bir zafer olmasının yanı sıra medeniyet tarihinin en önemli hadiselerinden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir.

On this occasion, I celebrate the anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul; and I commemorate with mercy and gratitude all our ancestors who contributed to this great victory, especially Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror.
